When Should I Calibrate the Torque Lock?

Torque lock is a tool that is now increasingly used in mechanical work to tighten the nuts and bolts of mechanical devices that are being assembled. This torque lock is usually used in the final work to tighten the nuts and bolts according to the size of a certain firmness. A torque wrench is used to do this work because torque has arms that can enter areas where it is not safe for human hands. At the torque handle there is usually a needle and also a pointer scale whose function shows the size of the firmness of the nut and bolt that is installed. The size of the firmness must be right because if it is too strong it can result in a machine that does not work optimally, for example the binding temperature on the machine becomes unstable.

The pointer on the torque lock is a very important element to indicate how fast the nut or bolt is installed. Along with the use of the torque wrench, the longer the pointer starts to shift its accuracy which can affect the accuracy of the measurement of strength. When Should the Torque Lock be Calibrated?

How often do you have to calibrate the torque lock that is held so that the scale size still has high accuracy? The standard procedure for calibrating the torque lock is every 5000 turns or every 12 months. However, this standard might be different because each torque user, especially in companies and factories, has their own standard procedures with regard to the frequency and intensity of the use of torque locks every year.

Another factor that affects how often you have to calibrate a torque lock is the level of security on the mechanical device being worked on. For example, torque-torque used in the aircraft industry must be checked every time before use, in contrast to the steel industry which does not require frequent checking and recalibration. Standards that apply in the industrial world are usually pegged if your torque has passed the 25% limit of a safe minimum, the torque lock should be recalibrated.
