Pascal's law is stated in a simple formula that is the hydrostatic pressure proportional to the density of the liquid, the acceleration due to gravity and the difference in the height of the liquid between the two column points.

 

How a Hydraulic Pump Works

 

The way a simple hydraulic pump works is by applying pressure to a column of oil or liquid.
