ASTM D 6304 Water Content Testing

Water content testing needs to be done in order to determine the percentage of water content in petroleum products. The presence of water must be removed because it belongs to the category of impurities that can cause early corrosion and wear, clog filters, and can help the growth of unwanted bacteria.

Water Content Testing can use the ASTM D 6304 method using the Karl Fischer technique because of the speed in measurement, accuracy and ease of operation of the tool. The unit of value for water content is expressed in ppm.
