ASTM D 445 Viscosity Testing
Category: Laboratory
Viscosity is a measure that states the viscosity of a fluid. Kinematic viscosity is determined by measuring the flow time of the sample through a calibrated capillary viscometer at a certain temperature based on the law of gravity flow.
Generally, the tested viscosity temperatures are 40 °C and 100 °C.
Viscosity testing can use the ASTM D 445 method. The viscosity value is expressed in cSt (centistoke) units.
